Inkscape Fonts Not Working: A Frustrating Experience

As an Inkscape user, you expect a smooth experience with your fonts. Unfortunately, some users have reported issues with font functionality in the software. I'm here to share my own struggles with Gotham and other fonts, hoping that Corel takes note of these problems and works towards a solution.

One common issue I've encountered is when Gotham or other fonts suddenly switch to Arial without warning. This has happened on multiple files, leaving me wondering what went wrong. Another frustrating experience is when the Substitute Missing Fonts dialog window appears but fails to suggest the correct font. In some cases, this window doesn't even open at all.

The Font Manager in Inkscape is supposed to make life easier by automatically installing fonts through Panose matching. However, I've found that this feature simply doesn't work as expected. Multiple fonts are unusable due to this issue, which has left me and likely many other users feeling frustrated.

In my opinion, the Font Manager is broken, and it's time for Corel to address these problems. While I hold onto hope that they'll fix these issues, I'm forced to revert back to a previous version of Inkscape (2020) to ensure a smooth experience for my department.
